The brief was to transform the new home into a space of conversation and the client is opened to exploration of non-conventional material. Given the luxury of space, we had to take into account the proportions of the new design elements to respect the original house design. The natural lights coming through from one side of the building gave us a hint to utilize high gloss material to bring more light into the inner part of the house. We further proposed strong colours for the bedroom to exude a stronger and separate atmosphere. What more befitting than to replace the entire floor with a uniquely selected marble of grey nature with specks of gold to garner attention and promote conversations. The marble placements were carefully conducted by decisively laid out off-site and agreed upon by the client. The more preferred sections of the marble selections were placed at prominent and high noticeable spots whilst naturally the least desirables were placed carefully far from eye sights. The ceiling feature accentuated the grandeur of the Dining Room and blurred the line between inside and outside, making the Dining Area more spacious than it really is.
