"To stop hansei, means to stop learning. With hansei, one never becomes convinced of one's own superiority, and feels that there is always more room, or need, for further improvement." Such is the approach to the design for this project. Given the wide diversity of the "habits" one collected, our aim was to find a way to summarize the richness of materials, ideas and elements into one harmonious space for a family to call home. Keeping the emphasis on the double volume space and framed view of the lush greenery of the boulevard outside, we wanted to created another framed view of the Living Area fused with the exterior. The Dining Area aptly connected to the long beautiful conversational piece Island induces social interactions throughout the day. A custom-made ceiling hung pendant designed to achieve a stronger spotted ambience onto the solid wood and marble top finishes. The private bedrooms are then designed subtly and exudes a soothing ambience at night.
