Ambong Ambong Rooftop Bar

The inspiration behind this rooftop bar at Villa Ambong-Ambong, located in Langkawi was sparked the moment we first stepped onto the site. As if welcoming us, a flock of hornbills soared gracefully across the rooftop platform. It was a rare and beautiful sight, one that instantly rooted our concept. Perched above the canopy, the site felt like a hidden perch in the trees, surrounded by lush greenery, yet gently revealing glimpses of the sea beyond. It reminded us of a hornbill emerging from its nest, stepping out onto a branch to take in the world beyond, calm, elevated, and undisturbed. We wanted to preserve this raw, untouched spirit of Langkawi, drawing from its native materials, stories, and natural charm, while subtly elevating the experience to reflect a refined sense of comfort and modernity. The result is a space that feels like a secret lookout, secluded, soulful, and deeply connected to the land it rises from.
